conclusion

I think that the majority of all video games are violent than educational. With saying this with the amount of games that are being released every year the will be no end to violence in games but there will be a lot of controversial over content in the games itself. I also think video games will always have a violent side to them rather then a educational purposed side and that this violence will have a effect on the people who are playing these game.

Agression, censorship and banning, and educational outlines of this blog have all come to a conclusion that video game are more violent then educational.

Effects and aggression from violent video games

The effects from video games full of violence can lead to numerous events outside of the game play area. With the content that some games produce like war games that involve killing enemies in foreign territory. With this the players that lose take their aggression out and turn it into a reality by going into public and harming innocent bystanders.  Research have shown that younger kids who are introduced to violent video games are more liable to become more violent as they grow older and it could lead to a more serious offence. Violence in video games do have a major role that influence aggression in people who play whether its a minor action they do like kicking and punching people to major actions such as killing innocent people or causing a great deal of damage to public property and creating havoc.

censorship and banning

There is a process that games go through to define whether or not they are offensive. The many games go through a censorship process where each game is tested and categorised into what content is in the game and how harmful or serious the game could have an effect on the consumer that is playing the game. The majority of games that are listed as too violent mainly contain sex, violent use of language and killing others in ways that is excessive. After each game has been processed it then comes down to the countries it‘s sold in and what censorship laws apply to games and any other multimedia that is being sold. If a game is deemed too violent or offensive it gets banned from that country for the content in the game.

Educational video games

Most video games these days are not really educational as in a learning based background game but more as a game based on real life factual situations. Many video games are educational by the content of the game and its what learning skills that is used to play the game. An example of this is army games or war based games are more strategic and require you to think of ways to outthink your opposition. There are several ways that video games can be used to provide the educational information that is needed to help either the younger generation of today to the adults of today. The younger generation will be playing basic games to teach them such as Maths and English type games whereas adults will be playing more of a shoot'em up style game where violence is learnt. SimCity was a game based on a reality where you had to build up a city that you ran and had to learn how to run a city properly and all its need to have a functional city.

Introduction

The arguments of my blog are showing that video games are either educational or violent.  This blog will cover four key arguments to show that video games are violent rather the educational.

The arguments will cover how educational games are and what the differences are between both violent and educational video games.  How games are placed into a violent category by censorship and the banning of some games.  Effects after playing violent video games will also be in the argument. Also my final argument will be why video games are more violent and not educational.
